Despina Fellow

Tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Torino and affiliate at Collegio Carlo Alberto. Pieluigi studied Political Science at Bachelor’s and Master’s level at the University of Napoli Federico II. He then received his MSc in Development Economics and the PhD in Economic Theory & Institutions at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. His research topics are at the intersection between different social sciences and include social preferences (e.g. trust, altruism, volunteer work), subjective well-being and development (e.g. microfinance, civil war and natural disasters). I use experimental- and applied-economics methods such as fieldworks, lab-experiments, policy evaluation and analysis of survey data. He founded and currently leads CLOSER (Center for LabOratory Simulations and Experimental Research) with the aim of bringing together psychologists, sociologists and economists in the analysis of human behaviour
